You may be wondering what is a T.E.R.F.? The short answer is, a woman who thinks for herself and speaks her mind about her life as a female in society.
Where the term TERF comes from. I don't know. The accounts vary on when and who first construed the acronym. Some say radical feminists came up with the term, which trans rights activists then used against them. While others say it was trans people who came up with the term to throw at women. Who knows for sure. It's a mess as it is trying to figure this history out.
The main thing TERF stands for is “Trans Exclusionary Radical Feminist”, and that's what it means the majority of the time it's directed at women, though now anyone of either sex gets labeled a TERF, that the original meaning doesn't make any sense since males can't be radical feminists. Logic and reason is not one of the trans rights activists(T.R.A.'s) strong suits.
While TRA's use TERF in a negative connotation. The letters can stand for anything your mind wants it too. For example, some terms are:
Totally Excellent Radical Feminist
Truly Extraordinary Real Female
Truly Excellent Reading Friends
Tired of Explaining Reality to Fuckwhits
The last one is my personal favorite and how I would describe myself when it comes to the gender wars and dealing with the nonsense TRA's and their allies spew upon the world.
In fact, women taking back the term TERF and self-identifying ironically as one has so upset the TRA's, that they had to think up another acronym to throw at women for insults. They came up with F.A.R.T.
Feminism Appropriating Reactionary Transphobe.
This acronym shows how childish they really are and makes no sense, since women can't appropriate feminism(men can and have, as seen with “liberal feminism”) and it just sounds so stupid when they scream at someone: “Shut up FART!” as if that will intimidate women into silence instead of laughing out loud at them.
A lesser known spelling for TERF is TIRF, where the “I” stands for Inclusionary, which some women I know use to set themselves a part from the women who truly do wish to exclude trans people at all cost(many are conservative women infiltrating feminist spaces and simping for the patriarchy).
However the original spelling and meaning of TERF is what many women I know use to self-describe themselves as, and all they mean by the “exclusionary” part is that their feminism and activism concerns women, a.k.a. the female sex which makes sense. Trying to please males and all the various “gender identities” out there just muddies the water and takes the focus off what women go through in the world. So it's important to remain focused on women and sex itself for any progress to be made, and I support women in that pursuit.
If you’re wondering how the hell I could be a Trans Terf? Well that's what TRA's label me, since they can't stand a trans person who does not go along with everything they're selling(that gender is a state of mind and anyone is whatever they say they are blah blah new age mumbo-jumbo). Also because I don't pretend or claim that being a transwomen makes me the exact same as any other women(female) goes against their very ideological existence. The whole “transwomen are women” line was never meant to be taken literally. It was just a nice way of saying “Hey, treat them like you would anyone else and don't be an asshole to them.” But it quickly became literal to the activists and this insanity has infected all of Western progressive society looking for the latest “civil rights” bandwagon to jump on, since same sex rights is passé once same sex marriage was legalized(as they deluded themselves into thinking homophobia was eradicated).
I hope this overview gives you a better idea of the term, and how it's used to attack women, and how women have responded to the attacks, taking the power away from the term by making the term their own thing.
It is exhausting explaining reality to those caught up in the cult of gender ideology and the world that encourages them. So, that's my preferred definition of TERF as it refers to myself.
